In 1949 the antiquarian bookseller Joachim Reinhardt founded the same named scientific and bibliophile bookshop in Bielefeld. From the very beginning he specialised in Judaica, Freemasonry, Occultism, History, Philosophy, Theology, Literature, Geography, Travel, Local History, with the emphasis on Westphalia, Early Prints and rare and important books on any subject.

In 1976 the antiquarian booksellers Anke and Paul E. Erdlen took over the business and have continued the company tradition up to the present time. Over the course of several decades more than 285 catalogues have been published covering these specialist fields and distributed from Halle Westphalia to regular customers worldwide.
